‘We first met Marcus at a wedding fair having previously seen his work online. His friendly, relaxed and professional manner coupled with his stunning photos made us instantly know he was going to be our wedding photographer. It also helped that he had worked at our wedding venue, The Barn at Upcote, many times before and had a good knowledge of the best places to get the perfect photos.
The communication leading up the big day was great, always replying promptly to our email and questions and advising us on a list of group shots we may like on the day. By the time I arrived at The Barn on the morning of the wedding, Marcus was already there snapping away. He captured every detail from setting up, through the ceremony and wedding breakfast to the first dance and into the night – a total of over 10 hours. He did all of this without ever being intrusive and blending seamlessly into the background. In fact, at times we forgot we were even being photographed.
For our personal shots he led us around the barns into the beautiful gardens, around the venue’s lake and into the corn fields with the setting sun giving the most beautiful of backdrops. His relaxed personality made us both feel at ease and although we are not the most photogenic of couples we actually enjoyed the whole experience.
When the 700+ digital copies arrived, we were blown away by their beauty and attention to detail. The hardest part now is choosing our favourites to include in an album. If you’re looking a professional, laid-back and friendly wedding photographer with an eye for beautiful photos and attention to detail then Bigeye is the man for you.
Thank you so much for giving us photos we will cherish for our lifetime. Mr & Mrs Harvey.
A beautiful Upcote Barn Wedding – This is possibly the sixth Upcote Barn wedding I’ve blogged but Abbi & Matt were total beauts and the barn looked amazing so I’m going for it! When I arrived at the barn there was a combine harvester changing my plans for a lovely cornfield shot but other than that, it was idyllic! The peace and quiet was soon shattered as Abbi’s white limousine arrived blasting Bruno Mars ‘Marry Me’ out the windows! It did calm briefly as the girls got ready but the happy screams started again when Aquaflorist arrived with the bouquets!
Once Matt and his groomsmen arrived, the pace went up a gear and guests started filling up the courtyard, each stopping at the top of the steps to admire the barn, as everyone does! Matt’s nerves brought a few happy tears as Abbi walked down the aisle to meet him and soon turned into a massive smile! Abbi & Matt emerged from the barn to the sunniest sunny day there ever was. During the afternoon reception, Joe Pike Music entertained the guests on his piano – who doesn’t love lots of impromptu dancing!? – before it was time for a few pictures around the grounds then dinner. The speeches were very heartfelt – even Abbi’s dad’s observation of something he found out on the hen do. A brave man!
The beautiful light continued into the evening, there was some peacock stalking, hay bale climbing and limbo!
