Dear Marcus, thank you so much for being out-right amazing on our wedding day. You made us both feel so relaxed that at times we almost forgot you were there! When the images arrived, we were absolutely blown away. We honestly cannot thank you enough. You managed to capture the feel of the day so well and these pictures will be so special to us and will allow us to relive the big day over and over again. Many thanks, Clara & Hugh
Owlpen Manor Wedding – An 800 year old Tudor Manor House on a 215 acre estate is a pretty good venue to choose to host your wedding. Hugh & Clara did just that, with Clara getting ready in the bridal prep area with Maddy in charge of beautifying. I’d shot a wedding at Owlpen Manor previously so was excited to be back. The great thing about Owlpen is that both bride and groom can get ready in one of the many cottages onsite whilst also being far enough apart from each other. It wasn’t long before Hugh and the boys headed for the Cyder Barn ready for the ceremony and to greet the guests. Clara entered the packed Cyder Barn soon after with her bridesmaids.
The Cyder Barn is the perfect setting for a wedding. Steeped in history with the press in the corner of the room and art adorning the walls. Hugh & Clara left into what can only be described as a barrage of confetti before heading into the gardens for their drinks reception. There was of course time for some portraits in the gardens and the obligatory Grist Mill photo which I first captured at Rachel and Chris’ wedding a few years ago. The reception was held on the side of the Cyder Barn and was beautifully decorated with pom-poms galore. Being a German-English fusion wedding, Hugh & Clara provided the guests with badges of their nations’ flags to display which language they spoke. Such a nice touch.
The cake-cutting was quite eventful – it always is where swords are involved, then it was time for dinner and speeches before all of the guests headed outside for a fire performance! After being dazzled by fire-eaters, it was back inside for the party and some epic outfits!
