‘Thank you for all your hard work: the photos are fantastic and it was a lovely reminder of the day going through them together.
You put us at great ease during the day.’ Sam & Claire
Matara Centre Wedding Photography – It’s not often that the groom’s brother helps to choose your wedding photographer but that’s what happened when George – Sam’s brother – got in touch with me. Sam and Claire were living in Australia so George helped to organise a meeting and asked all the important questions.
The venue they chose – The Matara Centre – is a place very close to my heart. I shot a few weddings here when I first started photographing wedding many moons ago so it’s always great to be back. Be in no doubt that this Gloucestershire wedding venue is as beautiful and inspiring as ever. The day started in the bridal suite where Claire was preparing for her big day with her bridesmaids. Sam was close by – getting ready with the male side of the family. The cloisters at Matara, where the outdoor ceremony takes place, is a unique place. Sam watched as Claire walked with her father to meet her groom amongst many happy faces and some beautiful light.
The rest of the day was extremely relaxed – from the hilarious speeches, some quite unique individual dancing and the warmth that permeated the day. We made sure we allowed plenty of time for portraits in the gardens, Matara is so expansive that it is a bit of a walk to make the most of it but entirely worth it.
