Manor by the Lake Wedding Photography and Film
Manor by the Lake outdoor wedding ceremony
Jade & Tom chose the beautiful Victorian Gothic mansion that is Manor by the Lake. Originally boasting 75 acres it still retains a lot of the grounds and there are many hidden spots for couple portraits. Jade prepared for the day in the bridal suite with Alice Taper on hair and Jade Johnson on make-up duties while Tom had the run of the Rock Bar, a completely bespoke groom prep area. It includes large areas to relax, get ready, play pool, a jukebox and of course, an actual bar. I’ve gone big on images of the manor at the start of the post – it really is a special place.
The heat was beating down when it was wedding ceremony time, the conditions were perfect and the cameras were set up. As Jade & Tom chose to book a film as well as photography, there were a couple of static cameras filming the ceremony too although I challenge you to spot them in the final images! The ceremony itself was really beautiful.
Tom read a poem to Jade that he had written himself and the emotion flowed. After a few readings, the register was signed and it was time for the big exit! Confetti around the front of the manner followed – and yet again, just the right amount of confetti was used from mini cannons and the colours were perfect. There was a real energy to the ceremony and this continued throughout the day onto the dancefloor – more on that later! When the couple bring this kind of positive energy along with their bride and groom squads, it makes capturing manor by the lake wedding photography so much fun!
Afternoon and evening wedding reception at Manor by the Lake
The guests enjoyed a sunny reception outdoors at the manor, a bouncy castle and the drinks were aplenty. There was of course plenty of time when the guests headed into dinner for a few couple portraits around the grounds of the manor. When the light changed in the evening, the best place to head is the bridge over the lake and that’s exactly what we did! Tom & Jade were absolute naturals as you can see below.
My approach is to guide but not to tell you exactly what to do, Dinner and speeches followed and I learnt a lot about both Jade & Tom! I’d been looking forward to the evening for a while as I knew that Tom was pretty handy with a guitar. After cutting the intricately designed (and very tasty!) cake, it wasn’t long before Tom took to the stage and did his thing!
‘Marcus was honestly the best photographer we could have had for our wedding day. He was super chilled as well as being professional and communicative. The photos and video are out of this world and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Marcus captured absolutely everything…he didn’t miss a trick.’ Jade & Tom
Manor by the Lake Wedding Photography and Film
Jade & Tom booked both film and photography for their wedding day. As well as the 5-minute highlight film, they also added a ceremony film and a film of the speeches. If you’d like to see these, send over an email. The benefit of film and photo being captured together is that your video and your photographs compliment each other wth both still and moving pictures of your day. Head here if you’d like to see a different blogpost where photo and film have been used together.
