Wedding ceremony at Stone Barn
Steph & Dan were excited about their wedding day – that’s safe to say! Steph’s bridesmaids and sister were excited too – the morning at Long Barn near Cirencester was fun, the buzz tangible. There was dancing – lots of it! – and hugging during the big reveal then a huge green double-decker bus from Nostalgia Travel arrived to take everyone to Stone Barn, an epic wedding venue in the Cotswolds.
The bus also took most of the tree branches it passed with it too! This was the third wedding date Steph & Dan had chosen, the first being in August 2020 then August 2021 and finally getting married a year later! I love how their welcome sign showed this.
The ceremony was one of the loveliest I have ever photographed. Dan & Steph were close both physically and emotionally throughout the ceremony and Steph’s response to Dan’s words during the promises was beyond beautiful. It is an honour to capture moments like these. After a tuneful rendition by the guests of Stand By Me, it was a short trip to the starlit walkway at Stone Barn where Steph & Dan were covered in confetti. Buckets of the stuff!

Afternoon receptions at Stone Barn are lovely. They are spent at the rear of the venue on the paved area with a lawn enclosed by trees and they are spent by the bar, by the cake table and in the big oak doorways. Steph & Dan’s guests did exactly this, wandered and relaxed. At Stone Barn there are lots of little spots to hang out and it’s all pretty!
There was obviously time to go for a bit of a wander with Steph & Dan on their own, the location really lends itself to couple shots – long paths and lots of beautiful scenery. It was so nice to see the connection between Steph & Dan, to see them both together without their guests. The excitement of the day that was so long coming was still very much there but there was also a real cosiness too that they’d achieved mission wedding day!
Stone Barn Photography Review
As soon as we met Marcus, we knew we had to have him photograph our wedding day. He was so friendly, had a great sense of humour and was refreshingly honest. We booked Marcus in 2018 ready for a 2020 wedding but because of Covid, finally got married in 2022! Marcus was with us every step of the way; reassuring our many worries, answering lots of questions, and giving us his honest advice.
On the day, Marcus was such a fun, calming influence who made us and our guests feel completely at ease. As such, our photos are beautifully natural and perfectly capture all the joyful, wonderful moments of the day. We honestly could not have wished for a better photographer. Thank you so much for helping to make our day one of our happiest yet!

Stone Barn Wedding Photography
One of the strengths of Stone Barn is the wedding breakfast space. Bathed in light due to being flanked by a wall of windows, sunken, so lower than the entrance level and beautifully rustic, the main room at Stone is a photographer’s paradise. It’s perfect for lots of sneaky shots from above, particularly during the speeches and I have access to move as I wish.
The pictures do the area justice more than my words ever will. My favourite part of a wedding day is always the speeches – watching emotion pour out amid reactions to anecdotes and true honesty is special.
Then the light hit! Summer golden hours are special and this was no different. Then the dancing hit, then the sparklers! I could go on for hours. Scroll down to see the Stone Barn wedding photography images.
