Oxleaze Barn Wedding Photography. I promised myself at the start of 2022 that I wouldn’t just let all the images I’ve taken sit on my hard drives unseen. Yes, I use Instagram and Facebook to share previews but there is nothing like seeing a wedding told in story format like a blog can do. So here’s the first of this years blogs: the story of Vanessa & Adam’s wedding day at Oxleaze Barn.
Two things stood out when I first caught up with Vanessa & Adam on the big day. The first being that Vanessa was six months pregnant and looking amazing! Whilst Adam & Vanessa didn’t want lots of photos focussing on the bump, it was so nice to capture it as a constant throughout the day. The second was that it was Adam’s birthday…his 30th I believe. What a way to celebrate the first day of your 30’s!
The barn looked beautiful in the sunshine ready for the outdoor ceremony. I’ve always considered outdoor ceremonies a real treat to photograph. This one was no exception. Vanessa walked down the aisle to be greeted by Adam waiting excitedly in the sunshine. What followed was a super lovely ceremony. Everyone shed a happy tear – as the pictures below show! – including the bride! After buckets of confetti and time for some pictures around the amazing grounds at Oxleaze, it was time for speeches. I loved the fact that Adam didn’t give a speech during dinner as he felt he’d said everything he needed to say during the ceremony. Very cool.
A nice treat in the evening as the sun set was the drinks tastings in the courtyard (Whisky & Polish vodka!) organised by friends and family. There was no first dance, there didn’t need to be something specific but there was a whole lot of dancing going on in the courtyard. A super relaxed, fun day in the Gloucestershire countryside which was a pleasure to photograph.
‘I’m planning to send everyone words of gratitude over the weekend but I could not wait. The pictures are amazing and frankly we did not expect anything less. You were also wonderful on the day, very helpful with organisational bits and guidance and invisible at all other times.’ Adam & Vanessa
