A beautiful ceremony at The Queen’s Hotel
Kerry and Ben chose two venues for their wedding day. Getting ready was at The Queen’s Hotel, a beautiful regency building right in the heart of Cheltenham’s Montpellier district. It’s as iconic as Ben’s Cornish tartan kilt that he wore on his wedding day.
The ceremony was led by Kerry’s amazing friend Becca who took on the role of wedding celebrant for the day. You can see from the film below how busy the ceremony room was; lots of very excited children, bridesmaids and most importantly, smiles, as Kerry headed down the aisle to meet a grinning Ben.
This is what weddings should be like, tangible excitement and maybe even slightly overwhelming! Kerry & Ben were committing to each other for the rest of their lives after all! Crying children are optional.
The ceremony excitement continued through the ring exchange, readings, first kiss and Kerry & Ben’s exit. They headed around to the paved courtyard where they were covered in what can only be described as the right amount of paper confetti circles.
Capturing Cheltenham wedding photography and film is so much fun when there is this much colour!
Wedding speeches, dinner and partytime at The Nook on Five
I mentioned earlier that the newlyweds chose two venues. The first being their wedding prep and ceremony venue and the second being a brand new venue to Cheltenham – The Nook on Five.
Situated at the top of the newly refurbished Quadrangle building, The Nook is accessed via a lift and commands lovely views over Montpellier Gardens below. Whilst the wedding guests were walking between the venues, we’d planned in time for some couple portraits in Montpellier Gardens.
This served a few purposes: to capture some pretty images and film of Kerry & Ben together, for them to spend a little time alone and ultimately to get from The Queen’s Hotel to The Nook!
After an epic entrance, Kerry and Ben said a few thank yous to their guests before dinner was served. Speeches followed as the sun set and the ambience of the venue came into its own. When capturing Cheltenham wedding photography film, ambience is everything!
Partytime at The Nook on Five is like nowhere else. Space is pretty limited so if you’re on the dancefloor, you better be dancing.
Thanks to the absolute epicness that is Tux Fizz and a few inflatable props, the extra hour that Kerry & Ben had booked me for was spent solely on the dancefloor capturing photo and film.
If you don’t know Tux Fizz, think: all the classics, lead singer on the dancefloor on their knees and you won’t be far off. Quite simply they bring the vibe!
Cheltenham Wedding Photography Film
Kerry and Ben chose both photography and film for their wedding day.
This resulted in over 900 high resolution images , a 5-minute highlight film set to speeches and ceremony audio (that can be viewed below) and full films of both their ceremony at The Queen’s Hotel and speeches at The Nook on Five. Photography Review
‘Marcus did both our wedding photos and videos and we were absolutely blown away with the end results! He was recommended to us by a friend and we are so glad we went with that recommendation!
He made us feel at ease from the very first phone call (we are not posey photo people at all so were a bit nervous), the run up to the wedding itself was really stress-free, Marcus made us feel like everything was in hand and he was all over the details of our big day.
On the day he was professional, a lot of fun and really helped us capture all aspects of our day (including a very chaotic ceremony entrance which involved 3 crying children!!!). W
e also paid extra to have him there for an hour after first dance to capture some fun dancefloor shots and they are so brilliant – worth every penny! Thanks again Marcus!’
