Brightwell Vineyard Wedding Photography – I first met Katie and Joe at Brightwell Vineyard, south of Oxford for their engagement shoot last year. Essentially, it is just that – a vineyard with acres of grapes but explore further and there is a beautiful lakeside spot for hire – which is exactly what Katie and Joe did. They hired a tipi as their venue and guests were able to camp in the next door field adjacent to the Thames.
Prior to heading to their venue, Katie and Joe were married at St Mary’s Church in Childrey, where Katie was accompanied down the aisle by her Grandfather after arriving in a camper van. There was plenty of emotion as Joe spotted Katie walking towards him which almost set everybody in the church off. After the ceremony, Katie and Joe were attacked by what can only be described as a ‘confetti octopus.’ Seriously, check out those arms below!
After seeing scores of dark clouds forming overhead we snuck in time for some portraits with the van and amongst the vines before the downpour hit – and stayed. The kids at the wedding even managed a little table tennis. It was great to see how everyone ignored the rain and just got on with enjoying themselves. Heading to dinner at the Paella buffet led some of the guests to make an umbrella tunnel allowing everyone else to stay dry whilst they got their food. Inside the tipi itself, Katie had worked her magic – scroll down to see how incredible it looked for yourself.
After the speeches, during which a little Jaeger was consumed by the guests – sorry Katie, I couldn’t leave those images out! – I left the wedidng in the more than capable hands of the amazing Ear Candy.
