Those of you that are regulars on my blog, know how much I love The Matara Centre near Tetbury. Some might say I am even a little bit addicted to the opportunities for photography that this beautiful venue offers. It’s an addiction I don’t want to be rid of anytime soon!
Emily and Steve were married in early September (when it was still warm enough to do speeches outside – more on that later!) in this pretty little corner of Gloucestershire. It was evident from very early on in the day how important family and friends are to both Emily and Steve and I was relishing the opportunity to capture this.
The day was a colourful celebration, from the bridesmaids dresses, to the ribbons on the trees, to the beautiful use of flowers on the wedding cake. After the ceremony in the courtyard at Matara, Emily and Steve treated their guests to sumptuous canapes of marmite sandwiches and bread sticks which went down a treat, before we all decamped to the stone circle for group photos then onto the dedication tree.
After their wedding breakfast, Emily and Steve had their speeches outside by the pond where their ceremony was held and made maximum use of this stunning venue! Emily’s dad had the guests in raptures with his speech entitled – ‘How to grow an Emily….’ peppered with gardening references!
The selection of pictures below, for me, not only capture the wedding itself and the planting and tying of ribbons onto their celebratory wedding tree, but also the fun being had by everyone. When the photographer is caught by the bride laughing at the speeches, you know it’s been a good day!
I think I’ll let the pictures do the talking…
