Cotswold Wedding Photography – David and Nicky’s story is certainly an extraordinary one. I’m not going to go into too much detail here, mainly because I could write about 80 paragraphs and still not be finished. However, also because Nicky and David have told their own story so well on their own blog – click here to read.
If you’d like to watch their day happening on your TV, tune in to ITV at 9pm on Thursday 22nd December. Tissues essential!
Simply put, David and Nicky met on a dating site, fell in love and got married. Their wedding day was a beautiful sunny occasion at Cotswold Water Park with a massive helping of emotion. I’d met them previously for their engagement shoot – images here. As David is paralysed from the chest down, it was essential they had some practice before their first look on the morning of their wedding. David and Nicky are two very lovely people whose wedding it was a real pleasure to photograph. The final words go to the new Mr and Mrs Durston.
‘Marcus, where do I start? The word ‘thank you’ seems inadequate to fully express our gratitude and HUGE appreciation! From the moment we met you, we knew we had landed ourselves with not only a fantastic photographer but a whole heap of fun too! Doing a pre-shoot with you was one of my favourite days in the lead up to the wedding; we laughed all day long and LOVED the pictures that arrived so quickly that evening. Thank you; not only for putting us at ease, and being an absolute hoot to work with, but for seeing past David’s wheelchair and capturing our personalities.
You arrived on our wedding day (with your comedy knock!) and somehow managed to survive in a room full of semi-naked, emotional, neurotic women; for that alone you deserve an award. I have no idea where you were all day but you captured the emotion, the love, the laughter and the tears perfectly.
Doing a ‘first look’ with you was a fabulous idea – they are magical pictures that we will treasure forever. We both thought that by doing that, we would have got the tears out of our systems – how wrong we were! You did all this surrounded by a film crew – nothing fazed you and you took all the challenges they threw at you in your stride. Not only are you a thoroughly good bloke, a great laugh and fabulous to work with – you are also a genius photographer.
Thank you for being a hugely important part of the best day of our lives; the pictures are stunning. Thank you is not enough, you officially rock!
Huge love, Mr and Mrs Durston’
