Berkeley Castle wedding photography – I had been looking forward to Charlotte and Richard’s wedding for a very long time, especially as it was my first wedding of 2016 but also because they had chosen a gem of a venue in Berkeley Castle. We’d met there a few weeks previously to allay any nervousness they might have in front of the camera and it turned out they were naturals! Tortwoth Court was the venue for Charlotte getting ready, surrounded by her bridesmaids and the always amazing Anna White on hair and make-up duties. Charlotte’s mum was on hand for the important job of helping strap up Charlotte’s dress before Anna added her veil. Meanwhile, Richard’s best men were calming his nerves as they prepared for the big day a short distance away. A big thanks to Christy Blanch Photography for capturing the chaps getting ready in the morning and helping out during the rest of the day.
After more than a few selfies…, the bridesmaids arrived at the castle closely followed by Charlotte, looking incredible in her Ronald Joyce dress and carrying her beautiful bouquet from Emma at The Flower Girls. It was the first time I’d photographed a ceremony in the Long Drawing Room at Berkeley Castle and it was beautifully intimate, with everybody in the room being so close together you really could feel the emotion. After the marriage was sealed with a kiss and the register signed, Charlotte and Richard led their guests outside to the main courtyard before we headed off for some pictures in the grounds. I’ll keep it simple…exploring Berkeley Castle with Richard and Charlotte looking amazing and brimming with happiness was easily my favourite part of the day!
The 14th Century Great Hall looked as it should for Richard and Charlotte’s reception with beautiful decorated candelabras to enhance the surroundings. The handpainted cake by Jennie at Curtis and Co Cakes looked (and tasted!) great too. After the speeches and a little first dancing, I left Richard and Charlotte in the more than capable hands of Matthew at Major Entertainment.

”Marcus! We have just been to mum and dad’s to show them the photos! We are all absolutely blown away! You have managed to capture the best day of our lives in such a way that will allow all of us to keep the memories fresh in our minds forever! We can’t thank you enough, no words can really explain how grateful we are. You’ve been amazing all the way through! How lucky are we that we had a guy like you (who I genuinely feel like I could now call a friend) to make a day that’s gone in the blink of an eye, everlasting through your photos. You are truly talented!
Richard and Charlotte”
