Ben and Karen’s Cheltenham Engagement Shoot

I met Ben and Karen at The Cheltenham Wedding Show at The Queen’s Hotel in Cheltenham, pretty much a year ago to the day. Since then, we’ve been following each other on twitter and I’ve very much enjoyed learning about them both and sharing the journey with them…including the stag do images!

Karen told me previously that Ben proposed to her in the park near their house in Cheltenham. There were fairy lights and party rings. Party rings you say…well, yes – as a stand in for the ring! So why not re-enact the moment when Karen said ‘Yes!’ for the engagement shoot! Ok, so there were no fairy lights this time but Karen’s reaction almost made me feel like I was witnessing a real proposal! Ironically, Karen is allergic to party rings…  so Ben got to eat it!

After the proposal, we walked through Cheltenham on the way towards Pittville Pump Rooms where Ben and Karen are to have their wedding, stopping on the way to take pictures and taking a slight detour towards the boating lake (watch out for those branches…!) and the bandstand in the park.

It was a massively fun shoot and I cannot wait to photograph Ben and Karen’s wedding in June!
