Sarah and Jon’s Wedding at the Frogmill

Sarah and Jon were married at the Frogmill, in Shipton Oliffe just outside Cheltenham. More information about this fantastic, recently renovated venue can be found here, as can the pre-wedding shoot pictures, taken in Lineover Wood.

Sarah had hired the cottages which are attached to the Frogmill Inn, to get ready in, so that’s where I found the bride preparing for her big day. After capturing a few shots of Sarah, her mum and her maid of honour getting ready, I moved outside to capture Sarah and Jon’s little girl and her cousin attempting to rearrange the small patch of daisies outside the cottages.
As Sarah’s daughter had been a little apprehensive of me at the pre-wedding shoot, I’d suggested they mention my name a few times in the run up to the wedding to familiarise her with who I was and therefore, she would be more relaxed around me, resulting in more natural images. It was sucessful until when photographing the evening guests arriving, a little voice down below requested ‘I want Marcus to dance…!’

Jon arrived not too long after I had moved outside, so I spent a little while capturing the preparations before heading back inside to capture Sarah’s maid of honour tying up the laces at the back of Sarah’s dress, then onto the groom waiting at the alter. The ceremony itself was fab, with light flooding the hall from the windows in the ceiling and the large suspended lamps hanging down.

After the ceremony, I spent a short amount of time capturing the group shots, naturally, before capturing the guests relaxing in the bar and on the tables that fill the courtyard of the Frogmill Inn, by the waterwheel. I stayed into the early evening to capture the happy couples first dance, while suggesting to that little voice that dancing really isn’t my thing…
